I met Daniel Perez on a chilly afternoon in Princeton, NJ this past December during our artist chalet pop-up. Daniel loved the Life Magazine wall in my shop which prompted a conversation about our art.
He shared his passion for caricature work which I of course found fascinating. Specializing as a caricaturist for weddings and corporate events, Daniel uses his creative talents to bring folks to life through the world of caricature portraits.
Ironically - I had a Life Magazine on the shelf with a caricature on the front! Daniel graciously purchased the magazine as inspiration for his work. I was blown away by his kind follow-up email offering to turn my photo into a classical caricature portrait.
"The magazine, by the way, is fantastic. It is a treasure trove of classical illustrations back when it was far more common to have traditional illustrations made for advertisements and magazines. I can't wait to do some studies inspired by my findings. I will, as promised, share these with you."
